FaT OuT 25: WORKSHOP: Performing with Movement Activated Sound

As part of the Music Space bursary programme, Adéráyọ̀ attended a workshop last weekend for women, gender-expansive, and LGBTQIA+ people, exploring movement activated sound.
Artists Lou Barnell and Simon East (aka Thunkist) led the workshop with a focus on rewiring your body’s connection to sound, and experimenting with composition using the body as an instrument. Participants worked with Ableton Live and Simon’s Flowfal technology to produce movement activated sound for live music or dance performances, using affordable wearable technology (e.g. Android watches).
The workshop was produced by FaT OuT 25 as part of the Oram/100 tour. It took place at Islington Mill in Manchester.
