XZO

The Rapper, Producer and DJ based between Edinburgh & Glasgow, has been shaking up the growing Scottish Rap & HipHop scene from the underground arena.

Since the release of their first mixtape in 2021, XZO (they/them) has risen fast on the Scottish scene playing iconic venues and events including King Tuts, St Lukes, Celtic Connections & Jupiter Rising.

XZO has also made waves South of the border with Trans Producer collective “TRANS_FORMATIONS”, working with the likes of I.JORDAN and received workshops from TAAHLIAH and Ifeoluwa; returning a stunning show of collaborative work with 12 others in Manchester.

They have been making a social and cultural impact as a member of Glasgow collective Excuse My Beauty, making their DJ debut at Kelburn Garden Party for the EMB takeover, which is in the history books as Scotland’s first all trans festival stage. Off the back of their B2B at this event with veteran MC and producer LADY INCARNATE, they founded the up and coming powerhouse duo TOP SURGERY, who are expected to have a substantial following on the Glasgow scene with both a regular club night and collaborative music in the near future.

Alongside a bubbling run of DJ performances at Stereo Pride, in support of DJ Swisha and at the Edinburgh fringe with Intercultural Youth Scotland, XZO has continued work on producing a follow up to their debut mixtape. This work contains a huge volume of quality music ranging from Hip-hop to Electronica to Punk, and will be their core focus in the coming year.
