Bursary programme 2023–24

Bursary recipients: ACE VIS!ON and XZO

Beginning in August 2023, ACE VIS!ON and XZO spent nine months exploring and developing their creative and professional practice supported by the Music Space team. ACE worked on multiple projects and performances, and XZO spent some time recording draft demos.

Both artists received regular mentoring sessions with Mele Broomes throughout the nine months. Mele also worked with ACE and XZO to select additional mentors for sessions tailored to their interests. Mentors included Iceboy Violet, Grove, TAAHLIAH, Wazi Maret, Emily Mulenga, Mobo Agoro (UP2STNDRD), Nat Raha, BEMZ, Alloysious (Young Fathers), Matthew Arthur Williams and India Sky.

ACE and XZO undertook a residency at CCA in October 2023, and have collaborated on tracks through a shared interest in sound and music.
