Listening Lounge with ladé and Mawadduh
Listening Lounge is an intimate, slow-paced workshop led by Nigerian-Scottish producer ladé, whose practice is rooted in intuitive listening, memory, and emotion. Drawing from abstract hip-hop and experimental sampling, ladé treats sound as something lived-in and tactile—where imperfections, texture, and process are not hidden, but become part of the story.
In this session, participants will gather in a relaxed, lounge-like setting to listen deeply and create together. Using shared recordings, sampling, and real-time decision-making, the workshop explores how listening can guide composition, feeling, and form. Rather than focusing on outcomes, the emphasis is on presence, collective attention, and translating experience into sound.
***Participants will be asked in advance to bring a recording or sound they’d like to work with. This is optional and can be a recording on your phone, a sample etc.
The session will take place at Music Broth, a fully accessible venue.
No prior knowledge required, and equipment is provided. Please email us via music.space.projects@gmail.com with any questions.
We reimburse all participants travel costs, we can discuss this with you once your place is confirmed.
