Soundwalk with Sara Wolff and Sound Thought
Join Sara Wolff for a guided soundwalk of Glasgow, planned in collaboration with Sound Thought. Together we will go for a slow-paced walk to listen to the sounds around us, using our ears and some of Sara’s sound recording equipment. You will be given a map with the route and different listening prompts to help you listen, then we’ll experiment with different ways we can draw and write about the sounds we hear. The walk will last for 1.5 hours max, with a relaxed discussion at the end.
Bring a pen, a notebook if you wish and dress for the weather. No prior experience and no equipment needed to take part – just your ears. Please let us know of any access requirements when you book so we can plan the walk accordingly.
This workshop is for 16–25* year olds. To reserve a spot please fill out the sign up form.

The building has lift access, and disabled parking is available at the front of the building. The space is fully accessible.

Sara Wolff is a composer, songwriter and sound artist. Her practice explores listening and noisemaking as ways of connecting people to place, memory and one another. This takes the form of composition, songwriting, storytelling, community practice and skill-sharing, performance, and visual experimentation. She leads Sound Pals, a regular guided listening walk exploring the sounds of Liverpool. She often shares her skills in listening and field recording both as a mentor and workshop facilitator, and has worked on immersive sound projects for Metal Culture and Liverpool Biennial. She has composed music for films such as Olive Pascha’s film Carrot Cake starring Niamh Cusack and The Gan-Finn by Louis Zillio. Sara last released two songs with Lost Map Records, recorded with Mercury Prize-winning musician and producer Mike Lindsay. While her songwriting blends indie folk and art pop, her approach to composition often draws on folk music instrumentation and harmony, combining voice with found sounds and experimental electronics.
